ABOUT KETTLE CORN

The most common question about Kettle Corn is “Where did this amazing snack come from”? Although no one can say for sure, we do know that it has been around for centuries and was the favourite snack at harvest time in the United States. The salty-sweet combination, no doubt, was brought over with the European settlers.

Imagine a time when hard work was the norm and leisure time unheard of. The harvest had to be complete before anyone could celebrate. Folks gathered around fires, fat was rendered in kettles and popcorn was added to make a delicious treat. In the southern U.S., sugarcane was plentiful and was added as the sweetener of choice. A dash of sea salt, and Kettle Corn was born!

In keeping with the traditions of these settlers, Nana’s Kettle Corn uses authentic open kettles to heat oil to which unique corn and pure organic sugar is added. Stirred by hand each kernel pops, covering itself in a light coating of sweetness and magically filling the huge kettles.

Each batch is then sifted to remove any unpopped kernels and dusted with fine sea salt ensuring your kettle corn is the most amazing “salty-sweet” popcorn you’ve ever tasted!
